Let us not go to forbidden places.
Let us not talk ill of others when they are absent.

வாகாரும் குறவருடை வள்ளி பங்கன்
மயிலேறும் பெருமாளை வாழ்த்தாய் நெஞ்சே.

Let us worship Lord Muruga who travels in a peacock.
Let us pray to Lord Muruga the husband of the tribal girl, Valli.
