Struggle of a Doctor after an accident and how he learnt to write with his LEFT HAND and succeded
.
I read this in a reputed Tamil magazine.I had just translated the content and retold it in my style. I hope it will give self-confidence to many people.
TAMIL TRANSLATION / தமிழில்
Mr.Ramesh Kanna and Mrs.Santhi were a newly married couple. Mr. Ramesh was a qualified doctor. Unfortunately, within 40 days after getting married, he sustained a head injury. It happened following a fall in his bathroom. Due to this, his right hand and right leg lost its functions.
But his mother, Mrs.Vanitha Sankaran keep on saying POSITIVE THINGS to the newly married couple. As a first job, she first gave him a four-ruled note-book and asked him to practice writing with his LEFT HAND.
A qualified doctor started to learn writing, once again, like a school kid, with his left hand.

It was really challenging to learn to write again with the left hand. But he worked hard and succeeded. He mastered writing using his left hand. Then he even did higher studies in medicine. Now having over come his defect, he is working abroad as a Neurologist.
It may be a bit shocking to hear him says that he wanted to thank God for his accident.
He says that it only because of it he could realize the pains of his patients better and treat them with more "empathy" and understanding.
What a great soul !
Hence, right from childhood parents should implant in their children, the character traits to fight back, in case something bad happens to them. They should have a fighting spirit and overcome their difficulties that they may face in life.
Hence, we should not always bring up children with luxuries and comforts and always keep on protecting them. Let them explore the world themselves.
Only then, they will develop skills to survive even in case of hardships and adversities. If there is no electricity, a washing machine will not work. But, teach them to wash clothes by hands. If there is no power, the grinder will not work. Its okay, let them learn to do it manually. If there is no petrol, a vehicle will not move, but let them also learn to ride a bicycle.
And let it not look like a punishment and let it not upset them. They should not curse anyone. They should just do it "differently" once in a while.
They should know to overcome hurdles, and not to pray that there should not be any hurdle at all in their lives.
Hardships in their lives will make children to use their full talents and come up with innovative ideas.
Remember, "Necessity is the mother of invention"
Let our children face difficulties in their life and become stronger persons. Instead of being meek like goats they should be bold and courageous like the mighty lion.
